Why I built a diary for strangers

I've always been the person people tell things to. On planes, at parties, in line for coffee. Strangers would confess things to me they'd never said out loud — about a marriage falling apart, a dream abandoned, a guilt carried for years. And every time, I'd think: this matters. Someone else needs to hear this.

Unfiltered is that thought, made real.

It's a place for the stories that don't fit anywhere else. Not polished enough for an essay. Too personal for social media. Too true for fiction. The kind of story that lives in your chest and just needs somewhere to go.

Every story on this site has been read by a human — me — before it was published. Nothing auto-publishes. Nothing goes up without thought. I read every submission carefully, and I publish only what I believe deserves to be read.

Submissions can be anonymous. Most are. That anonymity isn't about hiding — it's about creating the conditions where truth can actually exist.

Everyone has a story. This is where they tell it.

If you want to share yours, submit here. If you want to follow along, subscribe to the newsletter. If you just want to read — welcome.
